Dube, who won the hearts of many in the world with his reggae music, was murdered two years ago. The South African musician, 43, was killed in a carjacking in October 2007.
Mabe was found guilty on charges related to the aggravated robbery of a VW Polo on October 13, 2007, while his two co-accused were acquitted on this charge. The three men were also found guilty on charges related to the hijacking of a Mercedes Benz in Jules Street, Johannesburg, on October 20, 2007.
A News24.com report said Dube's family clapped in excitement as the judgment was read in the High Court in Johannesburg. A Reuters report said two of the accused attempted to escape on Tuesday but were caught and brought back to court to hear the judgment.
The report further said that arguments for the sentence of the three accused people will kick off later on Wednesday.
The South Africa artist’s death stunned many people. Dube is said to have recorded more than 20 albums including the hottest Rastas Never Die which sold million of copies. The musician is also said to have won over 20 awards locally and internationally.
